The Design Process

I specialise in creating individual, handcrafted and unique wedding stationery.  Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life; such a special occasion should have special invitations created especially for the lucky couple.  The work I produce is commission based; each piece you see on my website has been carefully designed to meet the couple’s individual style. What better way to make an impression and set the scene than by having unique, handcrafted cards carefully designed for you?  The service I offer is personal and flexible and you can be sure of a high quality experience.

Choosing your wedding stationery doesn’t have to be a daunting experience, that is why I am here to make the process smoother and give the bride to be one less thing to worry about!

The first stage of the design process for a new item of stationery involves me establishing some of the finer details in order to ‘get to know’ the bride and groom and to create some initial ideas for the commissioned work.

The best way to start I think is to go through some simple questions, take some time to think about the following:

1)      When is your wedding date? How many guests will you have attending the day and evening?

2)      Have you decided on the finer details for your special day and its theme? i.e. colour scheme, flower choice, any particular ideas you already have in mind? etc

3)      Are there any designs you have seen on my website that you are drawn to and would like adapting for you? Take a look through my gallery!

4)      Consider your personality – where is your wedding location? Reception location? Is there any special interests or hobbies that you would like to incorporate into the design?  Anything you are specially known for amongst your friends? This can help to personalise your stationery

5)      Do you have a budget in mind that you would like to work to?

6)      Timescale – when do you need the finished product for?

Once you have decided on as many points as you can from the above, then it’s time for you to get in touch!  Send me an email with your thoughts then we can take it from there. If you would prefer to discuss over the phone or in person (if we are in close proximity) this is absolutely fine, the choice is yours.

The next stage once I know all the finer details, I will start working on a couple of bespoke designs for you specific to your requirements. Normally I would ask for approximately 2 weeks to come up with the initial ideas – to ensure that I get it just right! I will begin by sending you photographs of the ideas, then once you decide on the final design, I will send you a sample to ensure you are 100% happy with your choice.

Once a final design has been agreed, a timescale will be set in line with your requirements, materials will be costed up and prices confirmed. Finally an order form will need to be completed to make things official!  Close contact is key to me and I will be giving you regular updates on progress throughout the entire process whilst ensuring you are comfortable enough to contact me should you have any worries or queries.

All of the above can be tweaked and adjusted to fit in with your personal requirements, it’s all about how you want the relationship to work so I adapt to each customer.  Please do get in touch if you have any questions, I am more than happy to assist.  My contact details can be found on the contact me tab.
